Saturday Oct 10th ~ The Jr Open House day at The Encino Velodrome was a fun day full of hardwork and hard working folks!!

Huge Thanks go to Chris Eisenberg for being our event photographer! Here the link to the wonderful slide show that she put together for us!

Huge Thanks go to Bobby Unverzagt (SBW) for selecting this project for your Eagle Scout Project! Thanks to Bobby’s hardwork and organizational skills we replaced more than 150m of balustrade boards and we painted the entire balustrade front & back!!

Huge Thanks to Megan Deen (Moth Attack Bicycles) for task mastering the rental bike locker. Bikes were repaired, bars tape replace, cranks tightened, wheels trued, headsets straightened. An amazing about of work was completed in just one day!!

Huge Thanks to Jenn Reither for organizing the weeding!! Those tumble weeds were huge and obnoxious but you, Rebecca & Donna made great headway in removing them and reducing the fire hazard! It wasn’t just that you filled 2 dumpsters, it was that you filled the field on the other side of the fence!!

Finally, Huge Thanks to All 40+ Volunteers who came to play, work & eat with us!! We had Juniors and their parents coming from SC Velo, SBW, Sho-Air, Major Motion, Train2Win as well as boy scouts and other non-cycling friends of friends. We even had softball spectators & other folks turning into the parking lot on accident who picked up a tool and gave us a hand.

But the work is never totally done....

We still have at least one more Eagle Scout Project to be done at the Velodrome. If there are any interested Eagle Scouts looking for a project, please contact me and I’ll point you in the right direction!!

Please note that the Encino Velodrome has an ongoing repair list. The following items are always in need: White Primer & finish Paint, paint brushes & rollers, lumber, lumber screws, bike handle bar tape, tires, tubes, and Time.
