2009 Masters Track Nationals relocated to Colorado SpringsColorado Springs, Colo. (June 16, 2009) -- The 2009 USA Cycling Masters Track National Championships have been relocated to the 7-Eleven Velodrome in Colorado Springs, the national governing body announced today. The event, slated for August 18-23, will be open for online registration at Sports Base Online beginning Sunday, June 21. "The Colorado Velodrome Association (CVA) is thrilled to host the USA Cycling Masters Track National Championships," said CVA spokesman Pat McDonough. "As North America's fastest velodrome, we are excited for the opportunity to see many new world records broken here."When masters track nationals were last held in Colorado Springs in 2006, the high altitude and fast racing surface set the stage for 13 world records to be broken. CVA will soon announce expanded training times for the two weeks prior to the national championship event, meaning that riders from around the country will be able to maximize their training opportunities at the 7-Eleven Velodrome.

Registration opens at Sports Base Online this Sunday, June 21 at 12:01 a.m. EDT.

and not to leave the endurance side out... (ladies the madison is on the horizon for you at Nats & Worlds)

Alright, here it is. A video highlight of a Madison Clinic conducted at Marymoor Velodrome, Redmond, Washington, USA, in 2008. Sorry for the delay in making this content available sooner.

This is a highlight of the clinic – a piece by piece lecture portion of the learning for Madison racing. Time on the track is not shown.

My hope is that those interested will contact Cycle U and have Adrian and Dan come to their track and conduct a full blown clinic to really have the full effect an maximize a group setting. Nothing beats being there in person. Cycle U (www.cycleu.com) Instructors are Adrian Hegyvary and Dan Harm, by the way.

My other hope is experienced riders at other tracks viewing this will use these clips as starting points for their own clinic and Madison race instruction for new riders. Adrian & Dan have done an excellent job of breaking elements down to the basics. PM if you want my version of their handout (I added some illustrations).

Sorry about the quality of the filming. A Flip camera was used – cheap to buy, very easy to upload clips, but sound quality could be better. I hope that viewers are OK with those limitations and gain the real value of the content shown in the clips.
