Madison Ladies have LOTS of fun

You can spend your time, waste your time, or invest your time. It's your choice.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Attn Ladies ~ Oct 7-9 ~ USA Cycling is offering a FREE CO-ED Madison camp at the ADT Event Center. Ladies, if you already know how to throw a Madison and have at least some level of competency with it, then you are invited to attend this Co-Ed Madison Camp courtesy of USA Cycling!!
USA Cycling is excited to announce the official beginning of its U23 Madison Program with an instructional camp scheduled for Oct. 7-9, 2008 at the ADT Event Center velodrome in Carson, Calif.
The camp is being designed as an opportunity to scout and educate riders interested in being included in the U23 program, but will be open to (MALE & FEMALE) riders 17 years and older from any category. The tentative schedule is to have a classroom-style meeting Oct. 7 at the Holiday Inn in Torrance (19800 South Vermont Ave), followed the next 2 days (Oct 8-9) with track time from 9:00 am. – 1:00 p.m. Track time will provide all camp attendees time to ride and practice Madison exchanges, but will be organized to evaluate rider’s abilities to be successful in UIV and similar races. USA Cycling will not be charging a fee for participation, but expects participants to have at least a basic understanding of the Madison and a basic ability with the Madison exchange.
Individuals interested in participating in the camp, or being considered for inclusion in the U23 program, should contact Clay Worthington at cworthington@usacycling.org, or 719-229-3768. Final camp details will be sent to expected participants and posted at the velodrome during the days before the camp.
Attn Women’s Cycling Teams ~ The So Cal bike racing off-season is short but it is a popular time for clinics. Now is a great time to plan a Track Cycling Clinic for your women’s team! Not only is track cycling fun but it teaches you many valuable skills that are essential for all cycling abilities and disciplines. Please contact me for more information!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thurs Oct 1- Sun Oct 5 ~ ADT will be hosting the Elite Track National Championships. Athlete Registration is now closed but spectators and volunteers are always welcomed. For a complete schedule of events, please see USAC’s website.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sun Nov 2nd ~ The 2008 Muddy Buddy Race Series is coming to San Dimas and they need some Downright Dirty Divas! No…this is not a track cycling event but it is a fun race for the multi-sport athlete! Bring your running shoes and a teammate to share a mountain bike with and join us for a leap-frog style 10k tag-team race! Both team members are required to alternate biking (approx 3 mi) and running (approx 3 mi) and there is a mandatory belly crawl thru the mudpit to get to the finish line! Teams can be co-ed or not. There is even a Costume Contest for the best dressed-up team…so don’t let your Halloween Costume go to waste!!
Speaking of Volunteers ~ ADT has updated their discounted track fee program effective immediately following Elite Nationals. Please become familiar with the new process. Information will be posted on the website as soon as it is available. We need volunteers to make this year's Elite Nationals a success. Since there is no World Cup in LA next year, the HDC has changed its training discount policy effective October 6. Only those who actually volunteer at velodrome events will be entitled to training discounts. Those who volunteer but do not ride the track can assign their discount to a rider, but it must be noted in writing/event. Volunteering for a session at Elite Natz entitles one individual to a training discount for six months. Volunteering at LAVRA events throughout the year also qualify for discounts. The HDC plans on charging admission to this event-another reason to volunteer!
Please let me know if you can help.
Elite Natz will run from Wednesday, October 1-Sunday, October 5
There is only one race session per day at 4:00 PM and Sunday, October 5 starts at noon. Check internal copy of event schedule to get the bestestimate of event timing.
Thanks for all of your help,
