How hungry will you be this July? ~ If Burritos are your “thing” then check out Chipotle Restaurants limited edition "Le Burrito"
Team “Slipstream Chipotle - H30” has added backing going into the Tour de France, July 5 to 27, as its sponsor has introduced a new burrito in honor of the USA team. Chipotle Mexican Grill in New York City unveiled "Le Burrito" in anticipation of the team's debut in the Tour de France, following on its first – and successful – Grand Tour, the Giro d'Italia. The limited edition burrito is aimed at athletes and will be featured in all Chipotle restaurants across the US throughout the French race.

June 15-16 ~ The Olympic Track Trials. This past weekend, the LA Velodrome hosted the Olympic Track Trials. While the only 2 US women’s Olympic Track slots have already been secured by Jennie Reed (sprints) and Sarah Hammer (endurance) most of the men’s slots (sprint & endurance) are/were up for grabs.
I know most of you think that watching 2-3 hrs of non-stop Time Trials must be boring with a capital “B”…but I can assure you these TT’s were anything but boring! I was not the only spectator to lose my voice cheering for the Home Team! (Oh…BTW…Thank you Dr. Kay for the whistles!!) The real problem this weekend was that ALL the athletes were the Home Team and no one wanted anyone to not qualify making it impossible to cheer hard enough for everyone of the athlete. All of these guys have worked very hard for many years for the opportunity to participate in the Olympic Trials and to go on to win Olympic Glory.
But it does seem that the eye of the needle that must be threaded just to make the Olympic Team is smaller than the eye of the needle that must be threaded to win an Olympic Medal. Everyone’s journey to the Olympics is uniquely paved with determination, victories, trials, obstacles, heartaches, sacrifices and joys. Each of these athletes has cried a near equal amount of tears of sorrow as tears of joy in their journey.
I think most of us think we know about what it takes and how much it must hurt to compete at this Elite Olympic level and then you see pros like these who make going scarey fast look almost natural. This weekend provided an up close look into what it looks like when the cream to rise to the top. While numbers don’t tell the whole story, they can hint at its ending.
With no commentary included, here are the (unofficial) results of the various timed events as I noted them as they happened at the 2008 Olympic Track Trials held this weekend:
