Cyclists at risk for bone loss
The sport's low-impact nature isn't conducive to building strong bones. Adding high-impact exercises can ease the risks of injury.

Attn: Ladies Only! Thanks to our sponsor Louis Garneau, LOTS has donated one Time Trial Helmet to both LAVRA & Encino for the Ladies who participate in either of these 2 Time Trial Series. Every Lady who registers for and races in a TT event, will have their name put into the drawing for a helmet. “One entry per event per track” means that if you race 3 TT events at only 1 of Encino’s TT Days, your name would be entered into Encino’s drawing 3 times. If you race 3 TT events at each of the 3 TT Days, your name would entered 9 times. Same thing goes for ADT. Each track will have separate entries, separate drawings and separate prizes. As the season progresses we will be adding items to be won!
So Ladies, join us for as many Time Trials as you want and get your name entered in the drawings as many times as you want!

Host Housing ~ The Encino Velodrome plans on making 2009's Far West Championships the biggest in years, and we need your help. Encino would like to offer host housing for racers coming from outside Southern California. We've all had fun meeting racers at other tracks, so here's a way to bring that fun home, and help spread the word about racing at the Encino Velodrome. As some of you may know, the Encino Velodrome is moving the Far West Championships from its traditional Labor Day Weekend dates to Memorial Day weekend for 2009.
So if you have room in your home and would like to help the Encino Velodrome, let Al Nash know by return e-mail aeniii@earthlink.net

So, all of the Ladies who attend the 2009 LOTS Sessions (Mar-Jun) at Encino on a race day will be entered into a drawing for one free same-day race entry.
Additionally, Ladies who have pre-registered to race the afternoon Omnium (bring proof), will have their $10 LOTS Session fee waived and they will still be entered to win a same day race entry.
Combination Bob Hansing Omnium Races & LOTS Session dates will be Saturday: March 7, April 4, May 2, & June 6.
