The next Ladies Only Track Session will be on Saturday January 5th at 12-2pm at the LA Velodrome.

Saturday January 5th at 12PM ~ Ladies Only Track Session ~ Come in out of the cold, leave your winter clothing at home and enjoy some indoor cycling fun at the LA Velodrome. As always, the LOTS begin with a one hour Track Certification Class for those who are new to track cycling. During the Certification Class, those Ladies with previous track cycling experience are encouraged to begin riding immediately. During the 2nd hour we will all come together as we discover and advance our skills.

The fee for all of the LOTS is just $10! We do not charge the Ladies for the ($65) certification class, the ($10) bike rental fee or the ($20) track fee.
The Monthly LOTS are a great opportunity for the local Ladies Club/Race Teams to host a Track Clinic. Please email me for more info!

Saturday January 5th at 3PM ~ LAWC Volunteers Meeting at the LA Velodrome ~ Everyone who plans to volunteer during any part or all of the LAWC needs to be at this meeting to pickup your final volunteer itinerary, ID Badges, parking permits (if applicable). This meeting is MANDATORY for ALL volunteers.

Saturday January 5th at 3PM ~ Pre-LAWC Elite Racing ~ Free Admission! Everyone is invited to attend this race event! It will be a great opportunity to see many of the World Cup racers as they make final preparations for the LAWC.

Saturday February 5th ~ The 8th Annual Boulevard Road Race Presented By UCSD Cycling. Master's Ladies: you will notice that this race offers a Cat 3-4 35+ category in addition to a Cat 1-4 event.

Jr Nationals ~ August 2008.
USA Cycling has announced that the “Elite, U23 and Junior Road National Championships and Junior Track National Championships” will be held in Southern California in mid-August.

The USA Cycling Elite, U23 and Junior Road National Championships are scheduled for Aug. 7-11 in Orange County while the USA Cycling Junior Track National Championships will be held at the ADT Event Center in Carson, Aug. 14-17.

USA Cycling awarded the road events to Jet Cycling in conjunction with Rock-n-Road Cyclery who will serve as the local organizing committee for the road race, time trial and criterium events.

This means that JET Cycling needs help! The list of road events that we are hosting includes the following ~

1) Elite & U23 Road Race ~ Portola Hills/Jamboree Rd/Trash Truck Hill & back to Portola
2) Junior Road Race ~ UCI
3) Elite, U23 & Jr Time Trial ~ El Toro Marine Base Runway
4) U23 & Junior Criterium ~ in Disneyland
5) Junior Track ~ LA Velodrome ~ Team Momentum Cycling will Handle all details

Just so you all know….August 16-17: USA Cycling Professional and Elite Criterium National Championships will be held in Downers Grove, Ill.

Each race event will require a Race Director to finalize the course preparations, finalize city/county permits, and in general be the “go-to-person” for that event. This, along with a host of additional items means there is enough to do for each event in 8 short months to keep a small/lg army busy!

If you have experience as a Race Director and/or feel that you are up to the time commitment and the overall challenges of it all, please contact me as soon as possible. The job of the Race Directors is best suited individuals with a strong Team/Club that has an established membership to draw from for additional help and to teams/clubs that do not currently host an annual team/club race

There is still so much more yet to be done before mid-February when we are required to open registration and provide each event’s course info and scheduling details along with plenty of additional related information.

I guarantee this will be a Ton of Fun and a Ton of Work!

If you are ready (skilled in RD’ing), willing (self-motivated go-getter) and able (live in The OC) to jump right in, please contact me immediately!

There is plenty of room for additional volunteers! We will be having monthly Volunteers Meetings starting in January. I will keep everyone apprised of upcoming Volunteers meetings as we move forward through the year.
