You can spend your time, waste your time, or invest your time. It's your choice.
The Next Ladies Only Track Session (LOTS) will be on Saturday October 13th from 12:00-2:00pm at the LA Velodrome.
Now for the Fun Stuff ~
Cycling TV is on the Internet. WCSN.com is a great internet resource for satisfying your cycling habit from an armchair. From your laptop or desktop or palmtop, you can view cycling events from all over the world both live and previously recorded. Although many events can be viewed for FREE, for only a few bucks a month you can either buy an ongoing subscription or you can “pay per view” a particular event to satisfy your viewing addiction.
As of this email, the “Greatest Parking Lot Crit of all times” (at least according to Bob Roll) can be viewed for FREE in its entirety at WCSN.com. Held in the parking lot of the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas this past weekend, The Pro Women’s US Crit Final can be viewed “gun to finish line”. With Bob Roll announcing, it was very exciting to see Laura Van Guilder (Cheerwine) race to victory with the help of her awesome teammates! And if you look closely you will see our own local Team Paramount girls holding their own in the peleton.
Also available at WCSN.com for your viewing pleasure is the Industry Crit with a hodge-podge of 125+ former pros & wannabe pros & never were pros & always wanted be a pro pros all racing together including 1984 Olympic (track) Gold Medalist Steve Hegg, our own Jennifer Reither, Shimano’s So Cal product Rep Jessie Gascon & the Lion King himself…Mario Cipollini!! Now if we could only identify the rider who snuck off the front of the peleton in the dark with 4 laps to go and easily won with a solo victory by nearly lapping the field….oh yeah!! Congratulations to multi-time Masters National Track Champion Mr. Kenny Williams. Not too many guys that I know of can say they beat up on Chipo in a dark parking lot in Vegas…Way to go Kenny!
Thanks to the title sponsor of this event, Rock Racing, this one-of-a-kind parking lot criterium held in conjunction with the Annual Interbike Las Vegas, will surely be back next year!
